There are over 1 million health & fitness channels on youtube, the market is oversaturated and growing at a rapid pace! So why take on the challenge of wanting to start one? John Mediana got guts! His friendship with Kingdom Nutrition owner Billy Hinzo goes beyond creative marketing. Billy has been a dynamic influence to John’s overall health and fitness by providing crucial information about supplements and how the body responds to them in his daily routine.
John couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mention that his buddy Billy needed his own youtube channel with all the information that he was given. “Why doesn’t anyone know about the many types of protein out there?” John is no stranger to the health & fitness world as he played a crucial part in launching and being part owner of a training facility in Orange County called Fitness on Fire, where he was first introduced to Billy Hinzo.
“You might not know this about me because of how I carry myself, but yes, at one point I owned percentage and was the branding and marketing expert for a growing brand called Fitness on Fire”
Knowing this industry is one of the largest industries out there, racking up billions of dollars in the supplemental world, John knew he had quite a challenge ahead of him.
“If we were going to get any traction with growing Billy’s youtube channel, we needed to niche down and think micro, own it, and grow the channel from there!” - John
John’s strategy was to make it personal, people don’t buy from companies, they buy from people. Putting Billy’s face as the brand of the youtube and showcasing Billy’s authority in supplements, it was a simple strategy of creating attraction by using eye-catching thumbnails and adding attractive headline titles. Producing quality content on the channel was the easy part. It needed to be consistent and there had to be a reason for viewers to come back every week!
